MEET THE MINISTERs
Pastor Annette Buckley and Rev Linda Young are the ministers for The Uniting Church of Lancefield. Rev. Deacon Wendy Elson also began her placement in 2015 and concluded her ministry with us early 2019 after 3 years. Rev Peter Cannon began his placement in 2016 and conclude his ministry with us in January 2021. Annette began her placement in August 2016. Linda began October 2019.
This was Wendy's first ministry placement with congregations. Previously, she spent many years in ministry as a school Chaplain. Peter has been a minister of the word for a number of years and a school Chaplain. Annette has been in leadership roles in the Presbytery and a number of Pastoral Care roles. Linda has been a minister in a range of ministry contexts, including ecumenical settings.
Activities
Lancefield Music
Lancefield Classical Music is on fortnightly....the first and third Tuesdays 2 pm til 4 pm. Come along and enjoy - listen, relax, reflect, knit or even read to some beautiful music. Share in afternoon tea.
Lancefield Jazz and Blues Music is on weekly from 7:30 pm each Thursday evening. Come and listen, relax, chat, nibble on supper, share a drink and just enjoy!
Our church is open every Wednesday from 11 am to 3 pm. It is available as a quiet space for retreat, personal prayer, and meditation.
Blessing of the Animals
On a Sunday in early October, we celebrate with Romsey UC our annual Blessing of the Animals service. It is a recognition of the part animals play in our lives and we in theirs. While the focus is on our pets, the service recognizes we are all part of God's creation and are called to be responsible stewards. We depend upon it and can contribute to creation's wellbeing.
